Gas is a popular cooking choice due to its efficiency, precise temperature control, and quick heat. Despite its higher cost, its instant and reliable performance makes it a favoured option in kitchens worldwide, whether for everyday meals or luxury dishes.

Gas cylinders are often encased in mesh nets during transportation, which raise questions about the purpose of this protective covering.

The nets are also commonly found on diving cylinders, oxygen tanks, home gas cylinders, and LPG auto tanks to protect them during transit.

These nets are selected for their durability, allowing them to endure rough handling, impacts, and environmental conditions while ensuring the gas cylinders remain intact.

Therefore, the nets are used to reduce friction between cylinders during transportation. They provide a barrier that minimizes direct contact and movement, helping to prevent friction and potential damage.

Furthermore, the gas cylinder protection net helps maintain the aesthetic of the cylinders by preventing scratches on the paint, dents, and other damage that could occur from cylinders rubbing against each other.

Available in various colors such as red, black, white, blue, and yellow, the nets often match the color of the cylinders to enhance their appearance.

During transportation, gas cylinders should be placed in hand trucks designed for this purpose, and the cylinders should be snugly secured to prevent tipping, falling, or rolling.

If you suspect a gas leak, remember that the gas is highly flammable. Move the cylinder to an isolated area, away from any potential ignition sources.

Allow the gas to discharge in the isolated area, ensuring that you follow the appropriate warnings posted.

EPRA strongly advises against using a flame to detect a gas leak. Instead, use soapy water to identify leaks.
