According to the Country’s 2019 national census, out of the 47.2 million Kenyans, approximately 85.5 percent of the population are Christians. Kenya has many different denominations such that you won’t go past a few kilometres without spotting a church or two. However, there is a group of pastors who attract a huge following both on the internet and in their churches. Here is a list of some of the most followed Pastors in Kenya.
Bishop Allan Kiuna
Bishop Allan Kiuna comes top in the list of the most followed pastors in Kenya. He is the founder and presiding bishop of Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) with its headquarters based in Parklands, Nairobi. He and his wife founded the church more than 15 years ago and has grown to become one of the most popular churches in Nairobi. The church grew from a congregation of six members only to thousands of members who consistently attend their Sunday services. The church has different branches spread out across the country and a subsidiary branch in South Africa and the United States of America. The 58 year old has over 113k followers on instagram, 137k on Facebook and 41k on twitter.
Rev Lucy Natasha
Rev Lucy Natasha is arguably the most famous female pastor in Kenya. She is the founder of Prophetic Latter Glory Ministries International. She is well known as a biblical-based motivational speaker and has been a guest speaker in numerous national and international conferences. The 29 year old is also an author having written several books including; Touching Heaven through Prayer – The Secrets of Prayer Warriors. Natasha is also the general overseer at Empowerment Christian Church and founder of the Natasha Hands of Compassion – a non-profit charity organization helping the needy in the society. She has over 780k followers on instagram, 1.6 million on Facebook and 51k on twitter.
Rev Teresia Wairimu
Rev Teresia Wairimu is the founder of the Faith Evangelistic Ministries Family Church (FEM) that was founded in 1989. The church is one of the biggest sanctuaries in Kenya and attracts thousands of congregants who religiously attend their Sunday services. The church has over 20,000 partners plus offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and the United Arab Emirates. During the grand opening of the church’s headquarters in Nairobi, President Uhuru and US based pastor Rev Reinhard Bonnke were the chief guests. The 65 year old is among one of the oldest pastors having mentored the likes of Rev Kathy Kiuna.
Margaret Wanjiru can’t miss in the list of the most followed pastors in Kenya. She is the founder and presiding bishop of Jesus is Alive Ministries – a church situated at the heart of Nairobi’s Central Business District. She is a bishop turned politician having served has the Member of Parliament representing Starehe Constituency from 2013 to 2017 under the ODM Party ticket. She attracts a huge following of worshippers who visit the church every Sunday. She is expected to run for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in 2022 under a UDA party ticket.
‘The Mightiest prophet of the Lord’ as his followers commonly refer to him is one of the most controversial pastors in Kenya. He is the founder of Repentance and Holiness ministries, a church that dates back to the 1990’s. The pastor organizes meetings in various big towns such as Nakuru, Mombasa and Kisumu where he performs miracles like healing the sick, making the blind see and the crippled to walk. This has led him to gain a huge crowd that follows him wherever he goes for a taste of these miracles.
Bishop David Muriithi
Bishop David is the founder of House of Grace ministry international which has its headquarters in Nairobi West. He is one of the most famous pastors in Nairobi and has attracted a huge crowd that regularly attends their Sunday services. The ‘son of thunder’ as he is popularly known founded the church in 2002 and is among the fastest growing churches in the country with branches in Athi River, Syokimau, Rongai, Embakasi, Mombasa, Eldoret, Thika and Voi. He first came to the national limelight when a woman by the name Jane Mutave came out to say that she has a child with the bishop and accused him of neglecting his fatherly duties.

Rev Kathy Kiuna
Rev Kathy Kiuna happens to be the wife of Bishop Allan Kiuna. She is the co-founder of Jubilee Christian Church – one of the most famous churches in Nairobi. The church attracts mainly the crowd drawn from the middle and working class who attend the church’s services. The preacher also happens to be the founder of Daughters of Zion Ministries – a ministry under JCC that seeks to offer empowerment opportunities and counseling to the girl child. She has over 455k followers on instagram, 280k on Facebook and 71k on twitter.
Pastor James Ng’ang’a
Pastor James Ng’ang’a is literally one of the most controversial pastors in the country. He is the founder of Neno Evangelism Center – a church located at the heart of the Central Business District of Nairobi. He is also the owner of Sasa TV – a Christian television channel that airs on all free to air networks. He first started his ministry journey under Bishop Wafula in Mombasa before leaving for Nairobi in 1992 and opened his own church. Despite all his negative controversies, he has been able to build a brand attracting a huge crowd who attend his church which has branches in several parts of the country.
Pastor Robert Burale
Pastor Robert Burale is one of the pastors in the House of Grace Church, Nairobi West. He is a seasoned biblical-based motivational speaker, life coach and mentor. The 40 year old is the founder of the Naked Truth and CEO of The RB Company. He has written several books including; Mask off – From the strip club to the pulpit and 365 nuggets with the coach. He hosts a TV show titled ‘Oh Men!’ on Switch TV and co-hosts a radio show that airs every Sunday from 7.00pm on NRG Radio. He is arguably one of the most famous pastors in Kenya with over 382k followers on instagram, 275k on Facebook and 75k on twitter.
Pastor Tee Mwangi
Pastor Tee Mwangi is the most famous pastor among the younger generation that mainly comprises millennials who consume the internet a lot. He is a Lead Pastor at Life Church Limuru and Gospel minister at the Gathering of Champions. The former Gospel rapper is the founder and president of The Truth Mentorship Society – a non-profit organization aimed at helping the young people to discover their purpose in life and God-given talents. He also hosts a TV Show titled ‘Angaza Show’ that airs on KBC TV every Saturday from 11.00am to 1.00pm. He has over 111k followers on Facebook, 94k on instagram and 30k subscribers on YouTube.
