The abduction of Victor Kibet, a 23-year-old Bachelor of Commerce graduate, by individuals who claimed to be police officers has sparked widespread discussion on various social media platforms regarding his source of wealth.

A year after graduating and with no known job, Kibet is the proud owner of a 2023 Mercedes GLC 250 4 Matic that goes upwards of $64,000 (Ksh8.3 million) excluding taxes.

He also owns an Audi Q7, a Subaru Forester that he cruises with during weekends. Kibet also drove a Toyota Mark X which he reportedly sold.

According to his father Paul Mutai, his son was an astute entrepreneur whose business acumen propelled him to the immense wealth he was able to accumulate over a short period.

Interestingly, his father has no clue what kind of business his son is engaged in.

“My son told me he had started a business with other friends, but never told me which one”, his father told nation.africa.

He went on to add,

“We used to support each other financially. Sadly, he is missing and I am on my way to Nairobi from Narok to find out what has happened”, his father told the daily.

Victor Kibet was kidnapped from an entertainment joint where he was enjoying a game of pool and bundled into a waiting Subaru car which was followed by a double cab.

The 23 year old had no qualms flaunting his massive wealth on social media platforms especially Tik Tok. He shared videos of flashy lifestyle driving top of the range cars and visiting a palatial home he was building for his father in their rural village in Narok.

Mr Mutai said his son was “very generous” and that his “life was starting to take shape” until his abduction.

He went on to question “anyone would want to abduct or harm my son. I have not slept since I was informed that he was missing and I pray that wherever he is, he is safe”, he shared.
