The ownership of Raha Fest, a leading promotional company in Kenya, has been variously linked to President Ruto’s son, George Ruto.
Raha Fest has hosted big names in the entertainment industry, with the culmination being the botched Shenseea performance on December 31, 2024, which was meant to usher in the new year. According to organizers, rowdy revelers gatecrashed the event without tickets, prompting police to lob tear gas.
Kenyans have been asking who truly owns Raha Fest, a promotional company that has brought renowned international artists such as Davido, King Promise, Ruger, Ayra Starr, and Daliwonga to the country.
Main Raha Fest Financier
According to a local online publication, the financier of Raha Fest is none other than Alexander Ezenagu.
In an article on Nairobi News titled President Ruto’s Son-in-Law Behind Davido’s Sh84.6m Kenyan Concert, the publication quoted a source claiming that the president’s son-in-law was the financial backbone of Raha Fest.
“He is the financial backbone of Raha Fest, alongside a group of affluent associates, the majority of whom are Nigerians. They are personally funding the concert, with minimal external sponsorship. Notably, the sponsors affiliated with the event are closely linked to Ezenagu or his network,” the source was quoted as saying.
The Davido event was primarily bankrolled by Ezenagu and affluent Nigerians within his circle. Other sponsors included Radio Africa Group—reportedly closely associated with Ezenagu—Zuri Health, Martell, and Vanguard Lounge.
Vanguard Lounge
The upscale restaurant in Westlands is also said to be owned by Ezenagu, contrary to reports by some media outlets that it belongs to Nick Ruto.
