Salaries of KFC Staff In Kenya

Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) was a Johnny- come lately in the fast food industry that was dominated by Simbisa owned Chicken Inn, Pizza Inn, Creamy Inn and Galitos’. This has however not stopped KFC from becoming one of the most popular food joints in the country. 

WoK highlights the salaries of KFC staff in Kenya starting with:

Customer Service Team Member (CSTM)

Cashier, Lobby Host, Presenter and Rounder

The lobby host ensures the restaurant is clean at all times while the presenter fulfills the order made by the customers. The rounder is essentially everywhere. 

Salaries CSTM

Full time employees’ salaries range from-Ksh 15,000 to Kshs 17,700. Salary increment is kes1,400 per annum but this depends on staff performance.

Part Timers

Pay is per hour. They cannot work more than 144 hours per month. 

Food Service Team Member (FSTM)

Pay is similar to CSTM. Their work is mainly on food. 

Shift Supervisors 

A shift supervisor on probation is paid kes23,900 per month. After confirmation, the pays goes up to ksh23,900.

Assistant restaurant manager is paid between kes45,000 to kes60,000. 

Restaurant general manager (RGM) walks home with between kes90,000 to Kes120,000.

Area coach is in charge of a zone and has powers to fire underperforming RGMs.

About KFC

The global food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken is the second largest restaurant in the world after McDonald’s. As of December 2019, it had 22,621 locations in 150 countries. KFC opened its first shop in Kenya in 2011.

The US-based company is run by South African entrepreneur Simon Schaffer through a franchise. By 2018, KFC had over 21 outlets in the country. This number has tremendously grown over the years.

KFC sources its chicken from Kenyan owned Kenchic but they import potatoes.
