Top Ten Highest Paid Kenyan TikTokers

A report released by Forbes in 2020 revealed that TikTok stars earned millions of dollars from making short videos on the app. In recent years we have witnessed young Kenyans who have become big brands courtesy of the app owned by Chinese company ByteDance.

In this article, WoK has compiled a list of the highest paid young Kenyan TikTokers as of 2022.

Moya David

Moya David is currently the most followed TikToker in Kenya with over 2.9 million followers and 35.1 million and counting likes in the app. Moya became famous on the app through making short videos where he surprised strangers with gifts and dancing for them. He is currently the founder of Moya Surprises limited – a company where individuals book and hire him to surprise their loved ones in birthdays, weddings, engagements or any other special occasion. The influencer is arguably the highest paid TikToker in Kenya as of 2022.

Vick Brandon

Vick Brandon is a popular Kenyan TikToker who first came to the limelight through making hilarious short comic videos. He has since created a brand for himself with over 2.7 million followers and 33.9 million likes on the app to become the second most followed TikToker in Kenya. He has since become an influencer doing partnerships and brand endorsements with corporate companies. He also runs a YouTube channel with over three thousand subscribers where he shares longer versions of his videos.

Azziad

She commands two million followers on TikTok and has been ranked by multi-media news outlets as the highest paid influencer in Kenya. In 2021, she ranked at position 28 of the highest paid influencer in Africa by Hopper HQ, an Instagram planning and marketing tool. She charges US$5,000 per post.

Gideon Musau

Gideon Musau, popularly known as Mr. Mbilimbili, is a Kenyan TikToker and actor who makes short comedy videos and posts on the app. He has created a brand for himself with over 697,000 followers and 5.5 million likes on the app. During a past interview with Daily Nation, the 23 year old revealed that he makes up to Ksh 400,000 in a month.

“In a month I make up to Ksh 400,000 on average from all the sponsorship deals and campaigns that I take part in,” he explained.

Flirty Carlos

Carlos Obura alias Flirty Carlos is another popular Kenyan on the app who became famous through making dance videos on TikTok. He has since got the attention of the app users and now commands over 720,000 followers and 14.6 million likes. He has over 75,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel and 252,000 followers on Instagram where he does brand endorsements, partnerships and promotions. He also conducts scheduled dance classes. 

Ajib Gathoni

Ajib Gathoni is a trending Kenyan TikToker who started making dance videos on the app in 2020 when schools were closed down due to the pandemic. She has over 735,000 followers and 16.4 million likes on tiktok. Ajib has 6,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel and over 203,000 followers on Instagram. She is the founder of Random Wear – an online fashion shop that sells clothes for men and women. She earns between Ksh 50,000 and Ksh 100,000 per month from Tiktok as reported by Tuko.co.ke

Alma Mutheu

Alma Mutheu is a Kenyan content creator and TikToker who has created a brand for herself through making random videos. She has since garnered over 489,000 followers and 13.5 million likes on tiktok. The English and Literature graduate has over 80,000 followers on instagram where she does brand influencing and partnerships. In a single deal, she makes at least Ksh 30,000 per month.

Appetizer

Appetizer is a trending Kenyan actor and influencer who became famous through making random tiktok videos. He has since garnered over 145,000 followers and 2.1 million likes on tiktok where he shares the famous pick-up lines videos. He has over 75,000 followers on instagram and he together with his friends run a YouTube channel under the brand name ‘Film Stylist’ which has over 91,300 subscribers. He does brand endorsements and partnerships with corporates and is among the highest paid tiktokers as of 2022.
