One of the most overlooked courses by Kenyan parents is culinary arts. Largely, cooking is associated with women and in some communities in Kenya-and Africa by extension-it doesn’t augur well for a man to cook for his family or do other house chores. Men are more ‘manly’ if they pursue certain courses which have over time proved to be useless. Chefs, for the uninitiated, are paid handsomely across the world as you will see below.

Salary of Executive Chef
An executive chef is the man who is charged with managing operations of the kitchen and the kitchen staff. The executive chef is also involved in planning menus, developing new recipes, maintaining inventory of food supplies, and establishing working schedule and organize the work in the kitchen so that everything works seamlessly among other duties. Head chefs or chef managers, as they are also known, working in 5-star hotels are paid kes500,000 ($5,000) per month. Chefs working in the same capacity in 4-star hotels pocket between kes250,000 ($2,500) to kes300,000 ($3,000).
