A tycoon who was evicted from a property estimated to be worth KSh 555 million in Muthaiga, Nairobi has written to Interior CS Kithure Kindiki asking for help.
The tycoon is counting on the CS to help him in a desperate bid to recover the three-acre prime property.
In his letter to CS Kindiki, the tycoon claimed that four officers drawn from the Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU) stormed his propertyon October 29 and evicted him.
“We seek the intervention of your good office in this matter and request that your office directs investigations and prosecution of all parties in the state employment responsible for the illegal and forceful eviction of our personnel and trespass onto our property,” the letter read in part.
He noted that the RDU officers were reinforced by 15 other police officers who arrived on a lorry.
“When the head of the RDU, Mr Lawrence Owino, was called, he informed us that he was under instructions from James Mwangi to protect his property from possible trespassers,” the letter added.
The tycoon also claimed that police officers deployed to his premises had defied a court order stopping the eviction until the case was finalised.

According to Nation, court documents showed that the tycoon and Equity Bank CEO James Mwangi are laying claim to the three-acre property.
In July, Mwangi secured a court order blocking his possible investigation or arrest over the disputed property; claiming to have bought the land in 2013 for KSh 320 million.
However, on the other hand, the tycoon claimed to have purchased the prime property in July 2016 from Arthur Magugu, former Finance Minister during the late president Daniel Moi era.
