Malls With The Best Christmas Decorations in Kenya

Decorations on malls bring life every festive season cycle. This is not any different as Kenyans celebrate Christmas and prepare to usher in the new year.

During the festive season, malls put up lighting decorations or a big Christmas tree inside the mall giving its clients the best experience.

Tree lighting is one of the most-common Christmas rituals and it is mainly observed by malls, restaurants and public buildings.

In no particular order, WoK looks at best decorated buildings during Christmas.

Two Rivers Mall

Touted as the largest mall in Kenya, the Two Rivers Mall is nestled along Limuru Road Ruaka in Kiambu County.

It encompasses mixed developments both residential and commercial centers, an amusement park, games arcade, movie theatre, supermarkets among others.

During Christmas, decorations are set up everywhere around the mall, from the driveway where lights are hanged on tress to the stairway and the entrance where lights ate hanged from the roof.

A big Christmas tree is also mounted at the entrance of the mall.

Two Rivers Mall

The Hub Karen

The Hub Karen is a premier shopping mall located in Karen, Nairobi hosts both local and international retailers.

Opened in February 2016, the mall currently hosts 85 stores and receives approximately 55,000 visitors per week.

During Christmas, the mall sets up beautiful lightings at the children’s recreational space, on the stairway and corridors where lights hang from the ceiling.

They also put up Christmas decorations on the pathways and the parking.

The Hub Karen

Sarit Center

Located in Westlands, Nairobi, Sarit Centre is the oldest shopping mall in Kenya having being opened in 1983.

The mall operated on a ‘city within a city’ slogan.

Being one of Nairobi’s busiest shopping centers, the mall offers a wide range of shops, restaurants and other amenities.

During the festive season, the mall is decorated with string lights installed around the corridors and a gigantic Christmas tree mounted at a central point in the mall.

Sarova Whitesands

Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort and Spa is amongst the best hotels in Mombasa.

It is both a luxury beach hotel as well as an adventure beach resort offering world class facilities and activities to both corporate travellers and families looking for fun and recreation.

The hotel is mostly booked during the festive season as domestic and international tourists flood the coast for holidays.

During this period, the hotel installs a massive Christmas tree at its main entrance, standing next to the sign post and tree lightings among other decorations inside the facility.

Yaya Center

Yaya Centre in Kenya is among major shopping malls in Nairobi and the most preferred shopping mall for people residing in the Hurlingham and Kilimani areas of Nairobi.

The mall was put up in the late 1980s, and over the years, it has become one of the leading shopping malls in Nairobi.

Inside the mall, Christmas corals blast from all corners complementing the multicolored snake lights  hanging from the roof.

The mall also installs a Christmas tree where visitors can walk through it.

Yaya Center

Thika Road Mall – TRM

Thika Road Mall is among the largest shopping malls in Kenya with over 100 outlets offering the best of eating, banking and entertainment.

This is in addition to numerous services and amenities offering day to day needs. It also houses a state-of-the-art conference facility, ideal for exhibitions, conferences and social events.

During the festive season, visitors walk into a gigantic Christmas tree installed just past the security check at the entrance of the mall.

The Christmas tree is complimented by decorative palm trees positioned at strategic places and have string lights hanging from it.

Thika Road Mall

Raddison Blu Hotel, Upper Hill

The Raddison Blu Hotel in Upper Hill is a five-star hotel considered the company’s biggest outlet in Kenya.

The hotel features 271 rooms for business or leisure travelers, complete with free Wi-Fi and in-room coffee and tea facilities.

Its sister outlets are Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence Nairobi Arboretum and Park Inn by Radisson Nairobi Westlands.

During the Christmas period, the hotel installs a big Christmas tree with gifts around it at the hotel’s reception.

They also install Christmas tree flowers around the corridors and that stairway.

Raddison Blu Hotel

Bufallo Mall

Buffalo Mall is the first modern shopping complex in Naivasha strategically located on the northwest edge of town adjacent to the Trans-African Highway.

The mall sits on an 18-hectare site and will cover a total of 22,210 squares meters upon completion of all its three phases.

During Christmas, visitors from Naivasha and the larger Nakuru County flood the mall in search of fun activities to engage in.

For this matter, the mall installs multicolored strings lights both inside and out the mall giving it an appealing look.

Rupa’s Mall

Rupa’s mall is one of East Africa’s largesf shopping malls and Nort Rift’s first modern lifestyle mall located in Kapsoya, Eldoret.

The ground coverage of the mall is 8 acres; 3.5 acres of the 8 acres was landscaped to become a recreational area while part of the remaining land is the parking space accommodating over 500 vehicles.

During the festive period, a Christmas tree is installed inside the mall, and visitors are allowed to take selfies and make videos around it.

Outside the mall, string lights are set up on both sides of the mall and around trees in the parking lot and other spaces.

Village Market

The Village Market is considered East Africa’s largest Shopping, Recreation and Entertainment destination.

The complex is home to over 150 outlets covering 210,000 square feet of retail space, 20,000 square feet of office space in addition to a host of recreation facilities.

Village Market experiences an influx of visitors diring the festive season, for this matter, beautiful decorations must be made to entice visitors.

Multicolored lights are normally installed at the complex and a Christmas tree among many other decorative stuff.
