Janet Kibugu Mulei is an entrepreneur passionate about transforming lives through education.
The former Miss World Kenya in an interview with Supermamas, revealed that her desire to nurture children developed when she was in school.
The accomplished entrepreneur grew up in a vibrant home of three children. Their parents worked to ensure they got the best and she was involved in sports while in school.
Her entrepreneurial urge spiralled in high school. The only problem was that she did not know the exact business venture she wanted to pursue.
Her dream was to become a paediatrician but she couldn’t stand to see children suffer, hence, she proceeded to undertake a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Nairobi.
She was later admitted to the bar as an advocate of the High Court. However, she would not end up practising law instead was crowned Miss World Kenya.
Diamond Junior School
Diamond Junior School was birthed in 2009. Initially starting as a kindergarten, it has since grown to include Grades 1 to 7 (1 to 6 being primary and 7 being Junior high school).
Wok found out that the school has two campuses in South B and Athi River.
Based on past interviews, Janet declared that the school was committed to helping children all around, both in class and in extracurricular activities.
“Today as I run Diamond Junior School with the great support of my excellent team and grow it from strength to strength, I find great satisfaction in what I do and the difference it makes,”
Our motto is ‘Inspiring Excellence’ We always work hard towards living up to that motto; to inspire the children to be excellent all around,” she is quoted by Supermamas.
The school won the GESS Education Awards for Best Use of Digital Learning in the Classroom.
Like any other business, it has faced its challenges.
She advised women venturing into business to follow their passion.
They should also learn from people’s mistakes and adopt positive attitudes which will help them sail through challenges.
Personal Life
Janet is a mother and the wife of Kevin Mulei. He is the founder of Groove awards and the NRG radio boss. He also founded Mo Sounds.
