Kenyans on social media have been left amused after Kirinyaga Woman Rep Njeri Maina donated water tanks.
Maina donated 100 tanks branded with her photo to schools and communities across the county.
The MP and her Tupange Kesho initiative have been donating tents, and plastic chairs to welfare groups in Kirinyaga.
“This week I have constantly been on the ground issuing one hundred seater tents and plastic chairs through our Tupange Kesho program which recognizes that supporting community welfare builds unity and cohesiveness,” she said.
Netizens criticised the plastering of her photos on the tanks saying the campaigns have ended.
Other social media users said the money for the branding would have been used to buy more water tanks for the community.
The branding was not necessary, am sure the cost of branding can buy another 10 tanks – Alvin said.
Taxpayers’ purchases should not be branded with people’s faces or names. At most, the flag of Kenya – Miriam Mbaika added.
If from own funds then it’s fine however if public funds through NGAAF then it is terrible – Bernard Too said.

Njeri Maina is one of Kenya’s youngest legislators.
She is also an advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
Before plunging into politics, Njeri tried several things, including being a musician. Her last recorded song, a love song, was called Mr. Right.
However, her music was not well received.
Her next try was entrepreneurship.
“The only thing I have never sold in Nairobi is quail eggs,” she told Inooro TV in an interview.
She would venture to the Gikomba market very early in the morning, purchase mitumba clothes, photograph them, and post them on her Facebook page dubbed Carolla Njeri Collections.
