Helicopter Carrying Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura Makes Emergency Landing

Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura had a scary moment after a helicopter carrying him made an emergency landing.

The helicopter was carrying Mwaura and Kenya Red Cross Secretary General Idriss Ahmed.

The two were from Nyando where they had gone to give relief to flood victims.

In a statement by the official government spokesman X handle, the helicopter landed in Gishungo, Kikuyu constituency.

“The Spokesman Hon Dr. Isaac Mwaura is safe. The helicopter plane that he & Idriss Ahmed the Kenya Red Cross SG were using from Nyando had to make an emergency landing in Gishungo, Kikuyu Constituency due to poor weather conditions. They had gone to give relief to affected people,” the statement read.

Mwaura on landing in Gishungo interacted with the villagers who came to see the helicopter.

The government spokesman explained to them chopper could not fly beyond the area due to poor weather and urged them to guard the helicopter.

Mwaura took the position of government spokesperson from Colonel Cyrus Oguna, who had taken over from Eric Kiraithe. Both men served under the Jubilee regime.

The job of government spokesperson is classified under job group U. Under that job group, Mwaura will be earning a basic salary of between KSh 292,765 and KSh 576,120.

He will also be entitled to other allowances, including a monthly house allowance of KSh 100,000, entertainment allowance of KSh 100,000, extraneous allowance of KSh 100,000, and domestic workers allowance of KSh 100 000.

In total, he will earn a monthly basic salary of between KSh 692,765 and KSh 976,120.

He will also be entitled to a leave of 30 days and free medical cover.
