Jahmby Koikai’s father has revealed the reason why the late reggae entertainer and media personality will be buried at Lang’ata cemetery.

Speaking at All Saints Cathedral the father said Jahmby’s grandmother is buried at Lang’ata and it was their wish as a family she was laid to rest next to her.

“The memorial service will be on Thursday, and more details will come before the burial on Friday at Lang’ata Cemetery. She will be buried there because her grandmother is buried there, and the family wanted her to be laid to rest close to her,” he said.

Jahmby’s mother was emotional as she remembered her late daughter.

“My daughter was so many things. She was a Christian, an artiste, a politician, a reggae fanatic, and a mentor, and that is how I knew my child. She served all people the same way. She was my friend and my mentor.” she shared.

Her father also added that Jahmby’s mother was at her bedside until her death.

“Seeing my daughter suffer was a heavy burden. To see that she went to the hospital and did not come out was not an easy journey, especially for her mother, who was with her,” he added.

Jahmby Koikai one of Kenya’s most prominent media personalities died after years of battling health problems.

She had been battling a chronic condition known as endometriosis which has affected her since age 13.

Endometriosis is a painful disorder where tissue similar to the lining inside the uterus grows outside the uterus, causing severe pain and complications.

She is fondly referred to by her legion of fans as the Queen of reggae due to her passion for this genre of music.

The media personality inspired many not only through her shows but also her strength and determination to fight endometriosis.
