Churchill Show is finally making a comeback on NTV.

The announcement of the show’s return to the Nation Media Group-owned station was made on Monday, June 24.

“The wait is over, Kenya! The legendary Churchill Show is making its grand return after years of requests from you, the fans! We heard you loud and clear, and we’re bringing back the side-splitting comedy, and hilarious sketches you love.” NTV announced in a statement.

For years, the Churchill Show has been moving around several stations after it left NTV.

In 2020, the Churchill Show was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic that saw the show being stopped forcing many of its comedians to be hit hard financially.

The show had a short stint on KTN Home and later briefly on TV 47.

The latest return is good news for its fans who have long waited for the show to have stability on TV.

Present during the signing of the return deal was Daniel Ndambuki alias Churchill MC Jessy and senior NTV Kenya officials.

Earlier, WoK reported on how much comedians on the show were paid.

Those who are featured in the main show pocket KSh 20,000. Comedians who perform during the live recording but don’t make it to the main show are paid KSh 5,000.

The pay was revealed by Sleepy David who was talking to Mpasho. He went on to say that Churchill had paid all the comedians he owed.

These figures have been disputed by comedian Zeddy. D

During an interview on Bonga Na Jalas, straight-shooting Zeddy told Jalang’o that comedians who don’t appear on TV “Churchill Show” are not paid a dime, including transport.

The veteran comedienne faulted the management of Churchill Show singling out Victor Ber and J Blessings for her colleague’s woes.
