Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho is without a doubt a rich man. He is known for his lavish lifestyle and his nickname, “Sultan” attests to his kingly life.

The governor has left tongues wagging while flaunting some of his expensive purchases in public.

Joho boasts an expansive investment portfolio cutting across various sectors of the economy including; shipping and logistics, manufacturing, environmental management, and healthcare.

Here are some of the expensive things, the second-term governor has spent his hard-earned bucks on.

  1. Nyali Mansion

Governor Joho owns a luxurious villa in Nyali, Mombasa.

The palatial home boasts an extensive cabro paved driveway and a well-manicured lawn.

The house, which is located close to the beach, is reported to cost Ksh390 million.

2. Ferrari

In August, 2018, the ‘Sultan’ set social media a blaze after he was spotted in a red convertible Ferrari.

The model Joho owns resembles the Ferrari California which is a two-door convertible. The car is estimated to cost around Ksh31 million.

Powered by a front-mid mounted naturally aspirated 4.3-litre V8 engine, the model was launched in 2008 and was considered one of the landmark cars for Ferrari.

3. Bentley Bentyaga
Governor Joho also owns a Bentley Bentayga Diesel. The car is as comfortable as they come, ranked among the most luxurious in the world.

According to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) the Bentley costs between Ksh30 million and Ksh51 million.

4. Richard Mille Felipe Massa Flyback Chronograph

In July 2019, the ‘Sultan’ dominated social media talk when he was seen wearing a Richard Mille Felipe Massa Flyback Chronograph.

According to online sources, the high-tech watch, which was a collaboration between Richard Mille and Felipe Massa brands, costs £179,995 (without shipping charges).

If you convert this amount to Kenyan shillings, using the exchange rate of 1£=Ksh149.63, the current value of the watch stands at Ksh26,932,387.

5. Hublot Bigbang Rosegold wristwatch

Joho has been seen flaunting the expensive wristwatch more often than not.

The wristwatch is partly hand-made and consists of diamonds and gold. According to online sources, the watch costs nothing less than Ksh2.1 million.

6. Eurocopter
The Mombasa Governor purchased a Eurocopter to ease his movement across the country.
The helicopter reportedly cost him in excess of Ksh300 million.
The governor is known to lead a lavish life and has been seen wearing really expensive wear. This includes Louis Vuitton sneakers worth Ksh92,000, Gucci sneakers worth Ksh60,000, and Lo-Top sneakers worth Ksh33,000.
The governor is also said to own a series of other expensive cars including a Rolls Royce and a Porsche Cayenne.
