My name is Mary Mwakesi, an entrepreneur with a robust experience in establishing and managing various small businesses in Nairobi West.
I am going for the Nairobi West MCA seat because it is time for change, but anyone with little experience in public policy and management of people cannot bring this change.
I am equal to the task having worked as a secretary in the National Assembly and managed over 100 projects in interior design, general supplies and construction.
My diverse business portfolio has taught me important leadership attributes:- advocacy, effective communication, management of people, and most importantly, accountability to ensure value for money.
One of my key strengths is treating everyone equally and promoting gender equality and inclusivity in the community, with the aim of creating opportunities and improving the well-being of every mwananchi.
I am skilled in leadership, customer care, business management, communication, teamwork, people management, entrepreneurship and project Management.
I am seeking this seat because I am a problem-solver. My manifesto will therefore focus on practical issues that directly affect the people of Nairobi West:-
1. Early Childhood Education: I will advocate for better learning facilities, adequate support for ECDE teachers, access to learning materials, and a safe environment for our young children.
2. Legislation: I will use my role in the Assembly to push for legislation and policies that respond to the needs of Nairobi West residents. I will also ensure that residents’ views are represented when laws and policies are being discussed.
3. Health: I will advocate for accessible and affordable healthcare, improved health facilities, adequate medicines and equipment, and stronger support for preventive and community healthcare.
4. Security and Street Lighting: I will push for improved street lighting in our estates, roads and business areas to enhance security and support businesses, especially at night.
5. Supporting Businesses: I will advocate for fair and practical working hours and business licensing processes that make it easier for small businesses and traders to operate and grow.
Vote Mary Mwakesi – Ni Wakati Wetu!
