Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko is easily among Kenya’s wealthiest individuals. The flamboyant politician never shies from flaunting his millions either in jewellery, designer clothes, expensive rides, or lavish parties, among others.
Sonko owns a multi-million lavish home located at Mua Hills in Machakos County.

According to reports, the mansion which cost Ksh150 million to constructs spots a gold theme on its perimeter wall and has the name ‘Sonko’s Family Farm’ prominently embedded on the main entrance.
The two-floor mansion boasts a beige exterior, with some parts of the house spotting brown, tastefully designed bricks, that give it a tasty architectural finishing. The mansion lies under a red-tiled roof.
Welcoming guests into the lavish home are three lion sculptures on either side of the entrance. The sliding glass doors lead to a spacious lounge with beige leather couches.
According to reports, the names of the family members are engraved on the floor.
The compound has a mausoleum of Sonko’s father Kioko Kivanguli. The walls of the mausoleum are covered in photos of the late Kivanguli. There is also a small meeting table with four seats, and also a television screen in the mausoleum.
The multi-million home also has a basketball court, a swimming pool, and an ostrich pen.
Other amenities in the house include a conference hall, a gym, and a fully stocked bar. The house also has an infinity-edge rooftop swimming pool overlooking beautiful scenery with a guesthouse in the mansion’s backside.
Sonko also has a dairy farm where he rears several cows and also has a stable for horses.
Resting on Mua Hills, the house gives a breathtaking panoramic view of the Machakos county neighbourhood.
