It is without doubt that former St. Anthony’s attacking midfielder, Aldrine Kibet possesses this mindset which saw him receive profound recognition both within and without the confines of the pitch.
Kibet became the poster boy for St. Anthony’s Boys High School Kitale. He quickly earned a celebrity status with football fans asking to take selfies with him.
Kibet is a complete attacking midfielder who possesses the skill of deft passes, the power for jaw-dropping long range shots and the mischief of leaving his mark in scars.
In the finals of Trans-Nzoia County, Kibet scored a decisive goal that muted their noisy rivals, Goseta Boys.
He received a high ball which bounced deliciously on the ground before he pulled the trigger. Despite giving his best dive, the ball was too fast and far for the Goseta Boys goalkeeper to save.
And into the 2023 KSSSA nationals, Kibet scored against Shanderema to earn Solidarity Boys a ticket to the finals.

Playing against the wall
Kibet hails from Lembus-Kwen Ward, Eldama Ravine Sub-county in Baringo County.
According to him, he cut his teeth in soccer at a tender age and would play with his brothers; Oliver and Victor.
However, when they were not around, Kibet would play against the wall of their house.
“I was playing against the wall when my brothers were not around,” he said in a past interview.

He began schooling at Poror Primary School in Eldama Ravine, Baringo County. Armed with unflinching determination, Kibet never let his football dream dwindle and this saw him join the Eldama Ravine Soccer Centre.
As such, he was among the talented players who were picked to showcase their prowess when Everton players and scouts visited Nakuru.
Kibet got to interact with former Super Eagles Striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni whose words were motivational. The former Middlesbrough striker told Kibet that if one day he gets to play professional football in Europe, he should not forget him.
The Wanyama Charity Cup
In the 2018 Wanyama Royal Charity Cup, Kibet was named the most outstanding player. The tournament was sponsored by Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama and attracted other partners as well.
In the tournament, Kibet plied his trade with Dagoretti FC which finished as runners-up.
Professional Football in Spain and Harambee Stars call
The former St. Anthony’s games captain impressed right from the zonals to the county level and to the KSSA nationals.
His captivating creativity saw him bag dozens of goals and a life changing call up to Spain saw him enroll at Nastic Sports Academy. In July, 2025 Kibet was signed by Spanish club Celta Vigo.
Harambee Stars Coach Benny McCarthy has included Kibet in a list of players that will play in friendlies against Comoros and Madagascar in November 2025.
