BBS Mall: Intriguing Facts About Eastleigh’s Biggest Shopping Complex

Business Bay Square Mall (BBS) opened its doors officially to the public in 2023 and it aimed to offer Nairobi residents a first-class shopping experience.

In this article, WoK details some intriguing facts about the mall dubbed the biggest in Eastleigh.

Size

The mall has an area of 130,000 sq m, making it the biggest mall in the area.

It’s located opposite Pumwani Hospital – bounded by General Waruinge Street.

It sits on 6.4 acres with a target built-up area of 85%.

Ownership

According to Construction Kenya, the BBS Mall is owned by Ten Commodities and Wholesalers Limited.

7-star hotel

The mall has a 7-star hotel, over 3,500 shops, 3 hospitals, 12 banks, 32 restaurants, and 2,200 parking spaces.

The hotel boasts 130 to 150 standard rooms.

Residential sections

The residential area includes 2-bedroom furnished apartments with a floor area of 90-100 sq m 2 en-suite bedrooms and 3-bedroom unfurnished apartments with a floor area of 150-170 sq m.

A grand Mosque

The BBS Mall Grand Mosque can accommodate more than 1600 worshippers during prayer sessions.

Easy access 

The BBS mall is easily accessed from all major highways and roads in Nairobi, due to its strategic location near Pumwani Maternity Hospital.

Cost of building it

According to a report, the BBS mall cost KSh 25 billion to construct.

“It cost approximately KSh 25 billion for phase one. We have phase two coming where we will have a state-of-the-art office block, service apartments and a five-star hotel,” said BBS Mall Chief Communication Officer Dalmar Abdi.
