Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso has died after a long battle with cancer. The 58 year Governor was admitted at Nairobi Hospital barely a week after she arrived from India where she was receiving specialized treatment.
Laboso jetted out of the country on May 29 and had been receiving treatment at Royal Madden Hospital in the United Kingdom before she was flown to India. Her handlers kept her condition top secret.
A statement issued earlier today by her office director of communication Ezra Kirui did not indicate that her condition had worsened. Part of the statement read:
“The governor’s doctors have recommended she get enough rest for speedy recovery and advise limited visits”
“She acknowledges the overwhelming goodwill messages and prayers as she responds to treatment.
