Joe Ageyo has been promoted to Group Editorial Director at Nation Media Group (NMG).
The promotion which is effective Friday, November 4 follows veteran journalist Mutuma Mathiu’s appointment as the new Consulting Editor.
Ageyo will be in charge of Nation’s journalists and editors developing content for print, digital and electronic platforms.

The new development and several other changes were communicated to all NMG staff members in a meeting on Friday morning.
At the same time, Monicah Ndung’u has been appointed to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) while Richard Tobiko will serve as NMG’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
NMG also announced the exit of the company’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) James Sogoti.
In March this year, Ageyo joined NMG as as Editorial Director-Broadcasting in charge of the editorial functions of NMG’s broadcasting operations in Kenya across multi-media platforms.
Before this appointment, Ageyo was the Editorial Director at Royal Media Services.
Ageyo holds an MSc in Environmental Governance from the University of Manchester, Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from the school of journalism, University of Nairobi and Bachelor of Agribusiness Management from Egerton University.
