Caroline Omboto: Lady Rejected by KDF Promoted to Staff Sergeant in US Army

Caroline Omboto has recently achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant in the United States Army, representing a significant advancement in her career as a dental specialist.

The promotion ceremony took place at the US Army Base in Vicenza City, Italy, and was graced by prominent individuals, including Ezekiel Mutua, the CEO of the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK).

Mutua, who was in Italy to lead a delegation of investors seeking collaborative opportunities between Kenyan and European artists, took the time to personally commend Omboto on her accomplishment.

In her new capacity as Staff Sergeant, she will be responsible for leading a squad of 9-10 soldiers, overseeing enlisted personnel, and providing support to commissioned officers.

Originally hailing from Kitale in Trans Nzoia, Kenya, she first sought to enlist in the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) but was not successful in the recruitment process.

Undaunted, Omboto made her way to the United States in February 2012 on an athlete visa.

Following the acquisition of a Green Card, she enlisted in the US Army, thus embarking on a new military journey.

She disclosed that she is a mother of three and joined the US Army after the birth of her children.
