Peter Nyaga is the Managing Director Certified Homes, a real estate company in Kenya. Born in a very humble background, he worked his way to the top and stands as a beacon of hope to many.
Early Life
Mr. Nyaga lost his mother at a very young age. He was taken to boarding school and at that tender age learnt to do everything for himself. School fees was a huge problem and he would often be sent home for failing to clear his fees. Nonetheless, he worked hard, was a bright student and got good grades. After successfully completing primary school, he had to wait for nearly two months before joining high school. This is because they were not able to afford the admission fees. By the time he was ready to join, he found his opportunity was no longer available. Luckily, through the intervention of someone he got admitted.
First Job
Shortly after completing high school, he joined his brother in the world of real estate. He asked his sibling to employ him so he could work with no pay. He knew if he wanted to make it, he needed to start somewhere. He gained a lot of skill and rose from messenger/ cleaner to driver. The determined young man thus started driving clients to view land and soon even began finding clients and earning commissions.

He enrolled for a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (procurement option) at Presbyterian University of Eastern Africa.
Career
Having gained experience in real estate, he started his own real estate company and at the age of 21 had already made his first million. With success came high standards of living. He bought himself a car and began living large. He became bankrupt, even sold the car but amidst all these learnt very important life lessons.
Later, he met like minded people and they teamed up to start a real estate company known as Certified Homes.
Certified Homes
Certified Homes is a real estate company that offers unique, elegant, quality and affordable homes to both investors and homeowners. Their core business is to build and sell homes through off plan models. This means someone purchases a home at the design stage afterwards it is built as they pay according to the terms and conditions. They offer architectural design and construction services based on consulting models to their clients. As the MD, Peter Nyaga’s work is to oversee the overall smooth operation of the entire organization.
The company was feted The Most Promising High Rise Property Development 2020 award by Real Estate Excellence Award
Book
The MD is an author having written a book titled Achieving Your Dreams. The book was launched during the Enterprise Magazine’s Annual CEOs Breakfast on 5th March 2021. The book highlights his journey as an entrepreneur and is a guide on how to achieve your dreams. He advises young people to consider taking technical courses as they are very marketable.
Philanthropy
In 2020, his company reached out to a lot of people affected by the corona pandemic by providing them with food .
