Mombasa is the second largest city in Kenya after Nairobi. It attracts a high number of tourists annually. The cost of guest houses and hotels which are close to tourist attraction sites can be pricey. Whether in Mombasa for business or pleasure, there are a number of places for you to have a comfortable stay without breaking the bank. In fact, getting cheap accommodation in Mombasa is not as hard as in other towns.
Diani Hostel
Diani Hostel is located 900m from Diani beach. It has an onsite restaurant where guests can enjoy amazing meals and the price for a single bed with free Wi-Fi, a shared bathroom and washing machine is $8.
Shiloh Accommodation
It is located about 7.8km from Fort Jesus and has five guest rooms, a restaurant that serves both local and international cuisine and 24 hour front desks. Pinebreeze Holiday Resort
Pinebreeze is located close to Mamba village and offers guests airy spacious rooms that come with a mosquito net and free Wi-Fi. It has an outdoor pool and guests can get a massage or access to the spa and wellness center at an additional charge. There is also a 24 hour front desk and room service. Continental breakfast or buffet is also provided. The rooms have flat screen TVs with cable channels and the price per night can range from $10.
Diani Classic Guest House
Located in Ukunda, the guest house features gardens views, free Wi-Fi and a terrace. Guests can also enjoy a full English breakfast daily and all units come with a seating area, a flat screen Television with satellite channels and a private bathroom with toiletries. Average price per night is $20.
Cingaki hotel
It is located 10km from Nyali beach and offers amenities, like a garden and a terrace. Continental breakfast is available for guests every morning and they can enjoy the 24 hour front desk service. Prices can go for $12 a night.
Viriko Boarding House
It is located 2.6km from Nyali beach and provides accommodation with a restaurant, free self parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. It offers 24-hour front desk services, airport transfers, a shared kitchen and free Wi-Fi. All rooms come with a desk, private bathroom and seating area.

The guest house is located in Shanzu about 1.8km from Bamburi beach. It provides free Wi-Fi, luggage storage, private parking, shared lounge, a garden and a terrace. Mali Guest House

Finally,
Mombasa is the oldest town in Kenya and for the longest time a major tourist destination in the East African region. Finding affordable accommodation in the area is not such a hustle as there are many hotels, guest houses, hostels and boarding houses. The prices are dependent on the time of the year and the decision of the property owner. Sometimes prices hike while other times there are amazing discounts.
