Media personality and author Ciku Muiruri has shown off her latest farming venture.
Ciku in a post on her social media accounts said she has been growing white onions and as a first-time farmer she was glad her harvest came out good.
She thanked God for protecting the onions from pests and the raging floods in Kenya.
The author revealed she started farming after looking for white onions but couldn’t get them where she lived.
“I have onions! I grew them myself. God has protected them from thrips, caterpillars, flooding and other things I am even unaware of … I am told that a first-time farmer never does well but my harvest is beautiful. Since I know I have NO skills in this dept and my entire agriculture classes in form one and two (compulsory) were spent asleep…I know that this is God,”
“Remember when I was looking for white onions some time back and could not find them? So I decided, why not plant some? I’m looking forward to Sunday Mass when I can go and present our Lord this offering,” Ciku posted.
Muiruri also added that she was selling white onions at an affordable price compared to other sellers in the country.
Comparing her onions to supermarkets and mama mbogas, Muiruri promised potential customers that she had cheaper white onions.
“The prices in the supermarkets and mama mboga are high they’re going for Sh 250-280. So I would like to share this harvest with you at a reduced price so we can all benefit together from His Bounty. DM if you would like some of my white onions. Sh 190 per kilo, minimum order of 5kg. When you cook them be sure to let me know if they are as yummy as they look,” she added.
Ciku had an impressive and captivating tenure on radio, spanning over a decade, with her notable peak at Classic 105. During this time, she garnered a substantial following and also faced criticism due to her popular segment called “Busted.”
This segment focused on exposing cheating couples live on air, earning her both adoration and animosity from listeners.
