Daniel Ogembo: High Court Judge Found Dead in His House

Siaya High Court Judge Daniel Ogembo is dead.

Ogembo was found dead in his house in Siaya on Wednesday, July 17.

According to reports, the judge was working the whole of Tuesday before his driver took him home where he stays alone.

When the driver came to pick him up in the morning the judge was not responding to calls or text messages.

The driver raised an alarm and with neighbours broke into the house where they found Ogembo dead.

According to the police, the driver informed them he had complained he was not feeling well on Tuesday before he went to bed.

Ogembo was appointed Judge of the High Court in 2016.

He joined the judicial service as a Magistrate in 2004.

Ogembo has served as a judge at the Eldoret, Milimani and Siaya High Courts.

He was admitted to the Roll of Advocates, in 1993.

On July 11, the High Court lost one of its most prominent judges.

David Majanja passed away while undergoing treatment.

Majanja had checked into the Nairobi Hospital for surgery.

Chief Justice Martha Koome mourned Majanja saying as the judiciary they were heartbroken.

“On behalf of the Judiciary and the Judicial Service Commission, it is with profound sadness that I announce the sudden passing of Hon. Justice David Amilcar Shikomera Majanja, Judge of the High Court of Kenya and Commissioner of the Judicial Service Commission,”

“We are all heartbroken. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, colleagues, and the entire Judiciary and JSC fraternity during this time of deep sorrow and sadness,” Koome said.
