DCI Offers Cash Reward For Information on Collins Jumaisi

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched a manhunt to rearrest suspected serial killer Collins Jumaisi Khalusha.

The DCI on Thursday, August 22 announced a cash reward for any information that might lead to his capture.

The detectives did not say the amount of the reward, but it’s said to be around KSh 1 million.

Information on Jumaisi’s whereabouts can be reported confidentially to the anonymous #FichuaKwaDCI hotline at 0800722203 or the police hotlines 999, 911, and 112, or to any police station in the republic.

“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is seeking the public’s help in providing information that could assist in the re-arrest of Collins Jumaisi Khalusha,”

“He was scheduled to be charged with murder but escaped from police custody on Monday, 20/8/2024,”

“The suspect is from Shiru Sub-location, Shaviringa Location, Hamisi Sub-county in Vihiga County,” DCI said in a statement.

The main suspect in the Kware murders, Collins Jumaisi escaped from the Gigiri Police Station.

Jumaisi, according to a police report was among 13 suspects who escaped from the police station on the morning of Tuesday, August 20.

The 12 others who escaped custody are Eritrean illegal aliens.

On Tuesday, at around 5:00 a.m., the officer in charge, Police Constable Gerald Mutuku, made routine visits to the cells.

Mutuku was with the canteen manager to serve breakfast to the suspects.

When they opened the cell door, they were horrified to discover that 13 suspects had escaped.

The suspects escaped by cutting the wire mesh at the basking bay.

Jumaisi was in the police cell, waiting to be arraigned in court for his plea hearing.
