In 2001, Joyce celebrated her marriage to Kindiki in a memorable ceremony attended by family and close friends.

While this union marked the start of their partnership, Joyce continued to pursue her academic interests while also supporting Kindiki during his transition into public service.

Kindiki assumed significant positions that influenced the political framework of Kenya, notably serving as the Senator for Tharaka Nithi and as the Cabinet Secretary for Interior Affairs during President William Ruto’s administration.

While her husband’s political endeavors frequently drew public attention, Joyce opted for a more reserved lifestyle, focusing on her students, family, and professional commitments.

Together, they have nurtured three children, ensuring they remain away from public scrutiny.
