Underfire Dadaab Member of Parliament Farah Maalim has been kicked out from Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort in Mombasa.
This is after the MP made an inflammatory statement that angered Kenyans.
Maalim had claimed that protesters had come from one community and if he was the president he would have used brutal force.
The MP further said he would go as far as killing 5000 protesters daily.
“God forbid if I was president I would have slaughtered them, 5,000 of them daily. Serious, there is no two ways about it,” said the Daadab MP.
The ejection of the MP from the hotel was confirmed by the hotel’s chief executive officer Jimi Kariuki.
Kariuki was responding to a concerned Kenyan who demanded an answer on why Maalim was at the hotel.
The hotel boss said they had requested Maalim to leave as they could not associate their brand with him.
Kariuki also condemned Maalim’s recent remarks.
“Good evening. He is no longer a guest at our hotel. We asked him to leave the hotel earlier in the day. We do not in ANY WAY condone his inflammatory and threatening statements against Kenyans and will not associate our brand with such a person.” Kariuki said.
The National Cohesion and Integration Commission summoned Dadaab Member of Parliament, Farah Maalim.
NCIC said the MP should appear before them to answer questions on his remarks.
The Commission said it is investigating remarks made by the MP regarding the Gen Z demonstrations against the Finance Bill 2024.
“The summons is by Section 27 of the National Cohesion and Integration Act No. 12 of 2008 which states that NCIC shall have the power to summon witnesses and to call for the production of books, plans and other documents and to examine witnesses and parties on oath,” NCIC said.
