Fenty Beauty Products By Rihanna Set To Launch In Kenya

Barbados singer turned businesswoman Robyn Fenty, otherwise known as Rihanna is set to launch her skincare and beauty products in Kenya.

The launch of Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin cosmetics in Kenya will occur simultaneously in seven other African countries.

They are Botswana, Ghana, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

In an update on her social media pages, the singer announced;

“I’ve been waiting for this moment!! @fentybeauty & @fentyskin are finally dropping in Africa! Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe. We coming at you on May 27th and that’s just the beginning.”

Rihanna has partnered with Lintons, one of East Africa’s leading distributors to stock her Fenty products.

Founded in 2008 by Dr Joyce Gikunda and Edward Gikunda, Lintons Beauty World, has 30 shops in Nairobi, Mombasa & Kampala, Uganda.

Fenty by Rihanna which is popular for its broad inclusivity across skin tones and gender was launched on September 8, 2017 by the singer.

The original foundation launch included 40 shades which was since expanded to 50 offering a wide variety to all skin types.

The intent behind having many shades to offer is to differentiate from other makeup companies that do not cater to a broad market, making it one of Time magazine’s best inventions of 2017.

Within one month of release, Fenty Beauty’s sales were valued at KSh 8.3 billion and sold-out products widely reported.

According to Bernard Arnault, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of LVMH, Fenty Beauty’s sales reached almost KSh 66 billion by the end of 2018.

Forbes reported that following 15 months of operation, in 2018, Fenty Beauty accumulated KSh 66 billion in revenue.

The entire operation is worth KSh 324.5 billion, of which 50% belongs to its CEO, Rihanna.
