Police said the accident happened after a bodaboda carrying Omondi was involved in an accident.

The motorcycle was hit by a speeding bus forcing the rider and his pillion passenger to land on the tarmac.

Omondi was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital where he was pronounced dead while being attended to, a police officer said.

“The incident occurred today, 15/6/24 at around 6:00 am near Caltex Petrol Station, Kangundo Road, involving Motor Vehicle Operated by Forward Sacco from Kayole directions heading towards the CBD and a motorcycle from the opposite side on wrong side (consolidated bank) collided head-on,” a police report read.

The boda boda rider suffered serious multiple injuries on both legs and fractures on both hands.
