Gideon Moi and his wife Zahra are proud parents after their son Kigen Moi got married.
Kigen said I do in a colourful ceremony in Rome, Italy.
The younger Moi married Rebecca Chepchumba in a ceremony attended by close family and friends.
The wedding was held in Rome as Rebecca’s family are from Italy.
Rebecca wore a flowing white gown while Kigen was in a suit with a dark blue long coat.
In 2023, Kigen and Rebecca held a traditional engagement ceremony in Kericho.
Gideon Moi who is a former senator for Baringo and current KANU chairman congratulated his son on his engagement.
“I am proud of my son Kigen Moi for making a monumental stride in this life by seeking Rebecca Chepchumba’s hand in marriage. Indeed, this engagement is a beautiful social and spiritual venture ordained by God to ensure companionship and continuity,”

Kigen is the firstborn son of Gideon and grandson of Kenya’s second president Daniel Arap Moi.
Kigen is the company director of Sosian Energy. The company concentrates on developing sustainable renewable energy projects across Kenya.
It was awarded a considerable tender by the Geothermal Development Corporation (GDC) to install and operate a Geothermal Modular Power Plant in Nakuru County.
Kigen Moi went to Brookhouse School and Bristol University in the UK.
Moi’s son is also a man of the people and he has, on several occasions, accompanied his dad to public meetings.
In July 2022, just before the August 9 General Elections, Kigen donated boda bodas to associations in Marigat, Kabarnet and Kabartonjo.
Kigen has enjoyed playing polo since his old days at university. He plays the sport professionally.
