How to Install Your GOtv Decoder in a Few Steps

If you’re looking for an affordable way to access digital television content, GOtv is an excellent option. GOtv offers a wide range of local and international channels at an affordable price.

However, to access these channels, you’ll need to install your GOtv decoder and GOtenna correctly. If you’re not sure how to do this, don’t worry!

In this article, WoK will provide a step-by-step guide on how to install your GOtv decoder and GOtenna so that you can start enjoying all the content that GOtv has to offer.

How to install GOtv for the first time

Follow the steps below when installing w GOtv decoder for the first time;

  1. Connect the decoder to the TV using the voice and video cable provided
  2. Take the antenna outside and mount it temporarily
  3. Connect the Antenna to decoder using the cable that comes with the box
  4. Connect decoder to power using the power cable
  5. Power on and setup will begin automatically
  6. Select the language and allow time for the decoder to scan the available channels
  7. If it does not scan, adjust the outside antenna until the strength of the signal is strong enough

When it is done scanning, that’s it!

How to set up GOtv antenna

Without proper installation, you may experience weak signals, blurry images, or no signal at all.

This can be frustrating, especially if you have to deal with constant interruptions while trying to watch your favorite TV shows.

To set up your GOtv antenna, please follow these steps;

  1. Pull the cable through the middle of the antenna grid
  2. Screw the cable onto the yellow plastic box of the antenna
  3. Slide over the waterproof sleeve
  4. Clip the green plastic box and the red plastic box on the antenna into the green plastic clip and the red plastic clip on the antenna grid, until they click. Green connects to green and red connects with red
  5. Place the U bracket through the middle of the antenna
  6. Place the first pole bracket over the U bracket with the flat side against the GOtenna grid
  7. Place the outward facing pole bracket attached to the GOtenna grid against an upright pole. Make sure that the down arrow on the yellow box is pointing down and then fasten the second pole bracket around the pole using the wing nuts provided
  8. Find a clear site that has no obstructions between the GOtenna and the signal transmitter. Point the GOtenna towards the transmitter. Slowly move your GOtenna to the left or the right until the strongest signal is found. You will be able to see this on the signal lever bar displayed on your TV. Then fix your GOtenna in its position

How to find GOtv signal

Like all TV services, GOtv reception can sometimes be disrupted by a weak or lost signal.

To find your GOtv signal, you can follow these steps;

Check your antenna

Ensure that your GOtv antenna is properly installed and pointing in the right direction.

Make sure it is mounted on a stable and high location with no obstacles blocking its line of sight to the nearest transmission tower.

Check your cables

Ensure that all cables connecting your GOtv decoder and TV are properly connected and in good condition.

Access the signal strength menu

Press the Menu button on your GOtv remote and select Advanced Options. Then select Installation, followed by “Signal Information” or Signal Strength.

Check the signal strength

The signal strength should be above 60% for good reception. If it’s lower than 60%, adjust your antenna until you get the optimal signal strength.

Rescan for channels

After adjusting the antenna, rescan for channels on your GOtv decoder to update the available channels.
