Arguably the best bread brand in Kenya. It was founded in 1970 by Nurzakhanu Akberali ‘Mama Kubwa’and her husband Akberali Habib Manji. Mama Kubwa started by baking at home before expanding to the multi-billiona business it is today.
Muthokinju Paints & Cements
With its branches spread across the country, Muthokinju was founded by Muthoni Kimani ajd Barnabas Njuguna. The couple ran a restaraunt before they ventured into the hardware business. (Check full story here)

Victor Maina started his business career as a hawker in Nairobi. He worked his into becoming a respected entrepreneur who owns a supermarket chain, malls and other business interests. Those who have interacted with him say he works very closely with his wife.
Makini School
The institution was founded in 1978 by the late Dr. Pius Okelo and Dr. Mary Okelo-who was the first female bank manager in Kenya. Makini ranks among the best private school in Kenya. Dr. Okelo sold 71% stale of the school to ADvTECH Group at a tune of Ksh1 billion.
Riara Group of Schools
The institution was founded in 1974 by Mr. Daniel and Prof. Eddah Gachukia. The Gachukias ceded control of Riara when Actus Equity acquired 22.32 stake in the six learning institutions.
Keroche Industries
Although facing financial challenges, Keroche Industries remains one of the best locally owned breweries company. It is owned by Joseph and his wife Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja.

RMS is the leading media house in Kenya. It was founded by SK Macharia who is the chairman of the mammoth media house and deputised by his wife Purity.
Bonfire Adventure
Before the two went their separate ways, Simon Kabu and his then wife Sara founded the leading tour company Bonfire adventure.
