Joshua Oigara was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Stanbic Bank Kenya Limited on December 1, 2022, and January 1, 2023, respectively.

Prior to this, he held the position of Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director at KCB Group for nearly a decade.

Over the past ten years, Oigara has played a crucial role in fostering growth and advancement within the banking sector.

Additionally, he holds the position of Non-Executive Director at Stanbic Nominees Limited.

Oigara ranks among the highest-paid chief executive officers in Kenya, with recent salary disclosures indicating an impressive annual compensation of Ksh 299.1 million from Stanbic Bank.

This total remuneration encompasses his base salary, allowances, and bonuses.

It is important to note that these figures may vary as companies listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange release their salary information.

Certain companies demonstrate efficiency in their salary disclosures, while others are notably slow in revealing the compensation of their management and board members.

In 2020, there were minimal to no announcements regarding salary disclosures, including those from Stanbic Bank.

In the most recent salary disclosure from Stanbic Bank, Oigara received a bonus amounting to Ksh 145.3 million.

Additionally, he was awarded deferred compensation of Ksh 48.4 million as a bonus last year, along with a gratuity of Ksh 21.6 million.

Oigara’s remuneration has positioned him among the highest-paid chief executive officers in the nation. His previously reported salary was Ksh 273 million.

Oigara possesses an MBA with distinction in International Business Management from Edith Cowan University in Australia, a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi, and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.

He is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA K) and a member of both the Kenya Institute of Bankers (KIB) and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
