June Chepkemei is the Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Tourism Board (KTB). She replaces John Chirchir who has been serving in the role in an acting capacity since 2022.
She will hold this position for three years. This is not the first time the youthful executive has been tasked with a highly challenging job as she has previously taken up lead jobs in top organizations.

Education
June holds a Bachelors degree in Public Relations and Communications and a post graduate diploma in professional marketing from The Chartered Institute of Marketing in the United Kingdom.
She also holds a Master’s degree in Communications Studies from Moi University and has undergone an executive training program on innovation at Stanford Center for Professional Development.
June is currently pursuing a PhD in Information Science. She is also a Chartered Marketer by the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the UK.
Career
From 2013 to 2015, she worked at Safaricom Plc as a Communications Business Partner.
In 2015, she joined Konza Technopolis Development Authority and worked in marketing and communications before becoming the manager of marketing and communications.
She is credited with pioneering the Konza Innovation Ecosystem Initiative that was voted third most inspiring solution by the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP).
The initiative brings together stakeholders to support the commercialization of research, innovation and enterprise solutions.
June was appointed to the Taskforce on the Kenya Media Policy Guidelines and also served as project coordinator for Kenya Advance Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
In 2022, she played a major role in leading team Kenya in a successful bid to host the 41st International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation.
She then went on to serve as the acting managing director of Kenya Investment Authority (KENINVEST). In this role, she was charged with coming up with strategies to grow and attract investments to Kenya.

Away from corporate, June enjoys fashion and is the founder of Lelesta Fashion House. Launched in 2020, they describe themselves as an online outlet for quality textiles and outfits.
