Kelvin Kiptum took the pole position and went on to break the world record in a time of 2:00:35. From this exceptional feat, the athlete made $100,000 (approximately Ksh15 million) and additional $50,000 (approximately Ksh7.5 million) for setting the course world record.

The Nike sponsored athlete continued his fine form when he clocked 2:01:25 in the London Marathon. Winners in this race $55,000 which translates to approximately Ksh8,2 million.

08 MAR 2020 he took position two in the NN CPC Loop Den Haag, Den Haag in Netherlands in a time of 59:59.
