Kenyan radio station, Radio Thome is mourning two of its presenters who died in a road accident.
The two presenters were identified as Stephen Waigwa alias Stevoh Chifu and Caroline Nyarwai alias Carol Kams De Luciah.
The presenters died hours after Radio Thome FM held a birthday party celebrating 4 years of broadcast.
Radio Thome announced a memorial service and burial dates for the presenters and thanked their fans for their support.
“Management, staff, fans (mashabiki), friends and families of our late presenters namely Stephen Waigwa alias Stevoh Chifu and Caroline Nyarwai alias Carol Kamamie will hold a joint maombolezi to mourn the demise of their loved ones on Wednesday 31/07/2024 at Terrace Villa Hotel Kutus Hall,”
“Thereafter a candle lighting for the deceased. We thank you for your continued support and heartfelt condolences. May their souls rest in eternal peace,”
“The burial of Caroline Nyarwai alias Carol Kamamie will be on Friday 2nd August while the burial of Stephen Waigwa alias Stevoh Chifu will be on 5th August which will be on a Monday.” The station announced.
The death of the presenters comes days after popular Kamba radio presenter Mercy Mawia died.
Mawia who works for Mbaitu FM had been admitted to the hospital and underwent surgery.
Mbaitu FM announced her death on social media and said her husband was at her bedside as she died.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Drive Show presenter, Ms Mercy Mawia. Mercy, aka Kamuwetangi, passed on this morning while undergoing treatment at a Nairobi hospital after being admitted to undergoing a surgical procedure.
Her husband, Mr Mwangi, who was at her bedside, confirmed the death.” They posted.
