Kiambu Senator Karungo wa Thang’wa has announced the deaths of his beloved brother and sister-in-law.

The senator said his brother Martean Wainaina Thang’wa died on Saturday, August 10.

Just a week ago, his other brother, Peter Ndung’u Thang’wa, lost his wife, Peninah Wanjiru.

The senator revealed his family has chosen to hold a combined funeral mass for the brother and sister-in-law.

“Wednesday it is. We are once again deeply saddened to share the news of the demise of our brother, Martean Wainaina Thang’wa, who left us on Saturday, the 10th of August 2024. His passing came just a week after our other brother, Peter Ndung’u Thang’wa, lost his wife, Peninnah Wanjiru,”

‘In light of these bereavements, we have chosen as a family to hold a combined funeral Mass for both our brother and sister-in-law on Wednesday, the 21st of August, 2024, at Mitahato village in Githunguri Constituency.” He said.

Karungo said the two will also be buried on the same day at the family farm in Juja Constituency.

“They will be interred the same day at our family farm in Juja Constituency. May God’s grace be upon us during this difficult time.” The senator added.

Before his political career, Karungo excelled in communication and branding, working his way up from a part-time lecturer to the Brand & Communications Manager at NIBS.

He also achieved notable success as the first African radio presenter and producer at CRI in China, hosted shows in both English and Swahili and honed his media skills at Kameme FM as a presenter and newscaster.
