Many know Lilian Ng’ang’a as the beautiful second wife of Machakos county governor Alfred Mutua. On a number of occasions, she has received backlash from social media users who feel that as the wife of a governor she needs to dress decently and not expose acres of flesh. However, the fierce lass has shut down her haters and told off those who are uncomfortable with her posts. In response to their salty comments, she told them to unfollow her and go focus on more important stuff like climate change. The opinion of the public towards her does not matter at all as she believes in living her best life.
What many do not know is that the current Machakos county’s first lady is a very intelligent woman who best defines beauty with brains. She has a sharp mind and a knack for helping those in her community and has done a commendable job as the first lady of the county. She is known for her charitable deeds and cancer awareness efforts in her county. She was awarded the 2015/2016 Cancer Champion Award by HELD Sisters Foundation and in 2017 was voted Cancer Ambassador of the Year by Eddah’s Hope Cancer Foundation.
Age
Lilian was born on 22nd June 1985 and is currently 36 years old.
Education
In an earlier interview with Eve woman, she revealed that she grew up in the village and would often attend school barefoot. She performed well in primary school and got the opportunity to join Thogotho Girls High School, Kiambu. After high school, she joined the University of Nairobi for a course in front office, tourism and hospitality.
Later, she graduated from Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology (JKUAT) with a Master of Science in Project Management.
Career
The 36-year-old was fortunate enough to get a job at the Safari Park Hotel, one of the oldest and biggest hotels in the country.
After one year with Safari Park, she left and joined Kenya Airways. She worked at Kenya Airways for another six years.
Having the looks coupled with confidence-key ingredients if you are to succeed on the runway, she ventured into the world of modelling. She also started a beauty parlor around the same time. However, the modelling industry proved so challenging for her and she gave up a few months later and also closed down the beauty parlor.
The determined lady then decided to venture into the tour business and started her tour company. This venture proved very successful and she owns the company to date, something she says is probably due to the course she undertook at the university.
Philanthropy
The Machakos first lady is known for spearheading a cancer awareness program in the county. This has seen thousands of residents in Machakos receive cancer screening.
Ng’ang’a also heads a Children’s welfare program that has helped a number of children in homes. The program has paid school fees for over 200 children and provided beds, mattresses among others.
She also registered the Lilian Ng’ang’a foundation in a bid to help the girls in the county have access to sanitary towels. By 2017, they had donated more than 3,000 sanitary towels and underwear to school going girls.
Marriage
Lilian met governor Alfred Mutua in 2011 and the two began a friendship. The friendship blossomed into love and the two tied the knot. They are blessed with one daughter but the governor has other children from his first marriage.

The relationship between Alfred Mutua and Lilian came to a halt bringing an end to what many considered like a fairytale union. The former Machakos First lady took to social media to share the news of the breakup.
“The only constant in life is change and we must be present and aware to appreciate and embrace it. Winds of change blew my way and two months ago, I decided to end the long term relationship with Dr Alfred Mutua.
We had a good run and I am forever grateful to God he brought us together. We remain friends,” her statement read in part.
