Maina Kageni: Multi-Million Properties In UK, US And Business He Will Start When He Retires

In an interview in December 2021, media personality Maina Kageni stunned many after disclosing that his exit from Classic 105, where he currently works, will mark the end of his career.

Speaking on his breakfast show, the radio presenter revealed plans to venture into bussiness in the United States where he owns a number of properties.

Maina said he would establish a night club in Miami after his retirement from radio, adding that he will be living in his house in the US which he bought years back.

“Come next year I’m done. I’m retiring from this job, I plan on running a club in Miami. I will be living in my condor. I bought it kitambo. I thought we talked about this and both of us after retiring?” He posed.

Maina has also invested in real estate with properties spread across the United Kingdom and the United States.

Apart from being among the highest paid media personalities in Kenya, he also runs a few side hustles, including emceeing, moderating events and running advertisements.

“The day I will wake up and feel that I am going to work, I will call it a wrap because for me, I’m always excited with what I’m doing,” he said. Sometimes I even wake up before my alarm. I mean, radio has nourished me for so long,” he said in a past interview.

In a previous interview, Maina sparked reactions after revealing that he spent a whooping Ksh 100 million to insure his voice which appears to be his most valuable asset.

“You have insured your voice?” asked Churchill to which Maina responded, “Yes, for 100 million.”

He explained that he would receive the payout should something happen to his voice.

After completing his high school education at Laiser Hill, Maina flew to the UK for his college education, but he did not register in college and started working as a truck driver and fish distributor for some Chinese firm.

When his mother went for his graduation, she was shocked to find out that her son’s name was not on the list of graduands, she left a disappointed woman and warned him not to come back to Nairobi.

Lucky for Maina, life turned out just fine as he now leads a lavish lifestyle, drives sleek cars and wines and dines with the who-is-who.
