On Saturday, June President Uhuru Kenyatta sent a message of condolence to the family of Mama Dorcas Pedelai Ntimama who passed away on Friday, June 25 at Nairobi hospital.

The Head of State described her as a dedicated and harworking woman who meant well for society.

President Kenyatta prayed that the family find strength and fortitude after losing their matriach.

“It is heartbreaking that we’ve lost Mama Dorcas. As a nation, we are grateful for her many years of service to Kenya especially in Narok where, with her late husband the Hon Ole Ntimama, they offered leadership and service to the community for many years.

“For those of us that interacted with Mama Dorcas, we shall miss her maternal demeanor and welcoming smile that made everyone around her comfortable,” President Kenyatta stated.

Family

Mama Dorcas  was the wife to veteran politician and former Cabinet Minister William Ole Ntimama.

Ntimama was a Member of Parliament for Narok North and a Cabinet Minister. He served for 25 years before quitting politics.

The former law maker died on September 1, 2016 at the age of 88.

Mama Dorcas and Ntimama had seven children; Lydia, Timothy, Debra, Caroline, Sanau, Drake, and Vivian.

Vivian, the youngest of Ntimamas’ children, died last year at the age of 40.

Wealth

Though the wealth she accrued by herself is unknown to the public, She was a beneficiary of a Ksh2 billion wealth left behind by Ntimama.

His interests were majorly in land, real estate and Ksh112 million he had accumulated at Britam Holdings Limited.

According to Ntimama’s will, Mama Dorcas inherited their house in Lavington. He directed that following her death, the house go to their last born daughter Vivian.

Since Vivian passed, the house will be inherited by her children.

Mama Dorcas also inherited 352 acres of land in Mara. This would also be passed down to Vivian, and subsequently her children.

She inherited a further 25 per cent of Ntimama’s property in London, England, UK.

Ntimama left his wife 50 per cent of his benefits held by Britam Insurance.
