The family of the late Micheal Oyier is requesting financial assistance.
Oyier’s family says the support would go into clearing his hospital bills and children’s educational trust.
In a post seen by WoK, family and friends are organising a fundraiser on Tuesday, April 30.
“Thank you for your outpouring of love, support, and heartfelt tributes to our beloved Michael. Your kind words and memories have comforted his family in this difficult time. It’s clear that Michael touched and brought joy to so many lives,”
“We are organizing a fundraiser on Tuesday, 30th, April 2024 from 5-7 pm to help cover his hospital expenses and support his children’s education trust. The event details are on the attached poster. Please share it with others who knew Michael and might want to contribute,” the post read.
The family confirmed on May 1 that a memorial service will be held at All Saints Cathedral and his burial conducted on Friday, May 3 at Got Nyakune in Homa Bay County.
Micheal Oyier died on Saturday, April 20 while undergoing treatment at Nairobi Hospital.
It’s reported that he had suffered a stroke, Oyier previously worked as a news anchor at KTN.
He was a certified counselling psychologist.
