In a chauvinistic society like ours, men will generally not allow their wives to engage in politics. Cotu-Kenya secretary general Francis Atwoli separated from his second wife Roselinda Simiyu after she decided to dabble in politics. But we have a class of men like Francis Nyamiobo who put their weight behind their better halves ambitions. Mr Francis is the husband of nominated senator Millicent Omanga.
Family
The fiery politician met her husband while she was at the University of Nairobi pursuing a degree in Journalism. The two have been married for almost twelve years and have two children.
Work
The legislator’s husband is a medical doctor whose research delving in HIV and AIDs have appeared in respected journals. He co-authored a journal titled “Association of sex work with reduced activation of the mucosal immune system” with seven other researchers. The background of the study reads:
Unprotected intercourse and seminal discharge are powerful activators of the mucosal immune system and are important risk factors for transmission of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). This study was designed to determine if female sex work is associated with changes in the mucosal immunity.
The good doctor worked as a programme officer in 2009 for a project researching on men’s health for the National Aids Control Council (NACC).

Dr. Francis Nyamiobo has largely kept off politics and is yet to comment on his wife’s expulsion from the Jubilee Party. He was, however, present when she lost the party primaries to seasoned politician Rachel Shebesh.
Acknowledging her husband’s contribution to her political career, Omanga shared:
Today I celebrate My Husband Dr. Francis Nyamiobo, The pillar behind my political strength. I Am so grateful for him. Tumetoka Mbali.
FAMILY IS EVERYTHING.
Meanwhile Verdict ni leo.
GOD IS ON OUR SIDE.
Omanga is known to be abrasive while her husband is laid back.
