Travel content creator Miss Trudy has set the record straight on the state of her marriage after her interview with a Ghanaian podcaster went viral.
In a recent episode of the Konnected Minds Podcast, Miss Trudy shared insights into the struggles she has faced in her content creation journey and her marriage to Ghanaian creator Wodemaya.
Miss Trudy revealed one of the challenges in her marriage is having little time with her husband, as he is currently a solo travel vlogger. She shared that in the early days of their marriage, she joined Maya on his travels, but over time, he expressed a preference for solo trips.
“It took me so long to accept that, I wanted to go with Maya everywhere. When we travel together, you know I am a lady, so I may take a little longer to get ready, and sometimes we’d argue about time,” she stated among other challenges.
Miss Trudy also discussed the difficulties she faced when moving from Kenya to Ghana, highlighting the challenges of adapting to new cultures, food, and climate. She noted feeling lonely most of the time, as she had no friends in the new country and her husband was frequently away traveling.
The podcast caused a stir online, leading to a wave of backlash against Wodemaya. Followers criticized him for being emotionally distant in the marriage, with some even accusing him of infidelity.
Miss Trudy responded by recording a video to clarify her podcast comments, vehemently denying any talk of divorce. She criticized gossip blogs for spreading the narrative that her husband was mistreating her, stating that this false portrayal has caused him significant stress, which in turn has taken an emotional toll on her.
“I would not have done this video were it not for how Maya is being attacked online. He is being attacked left, right and center. It is a little confusing because I get that you people care for me but at the same time I feel like you guys got it wrong because Maya is not an evil person. We are both dealing with some things and we are doing the best way we know how,” she stated.
Miss Trudy also addressed several allegations against Wodemaya, including claims that he is tight-fisted. Critics pointed out that he opted for a small wedding ceremony with just a few guests, sparking controversy when he later threw an extravagant wedding for his sister. This was reinforced by Trudy’s statement on the podcast that she values financial independence and works diligently to avoid relying on her husband.
Miss Trudy urged her followers to approach online rumors with caution, explaining that her comments about her marital affairs are frequently misinterpreted, often leading to severe consequences.
“No one is prefect, you guys do not have the whole picture, and there are things we need to work on. I don’t want to get a divorce, when I got into my marriage I knew I wanted to be there till the end,” she stated.
Her followers showed support but advised her to be cautious about sharing details of her marriage, suggesting that her honesty has made her a target for critics and exposed her husband to online trolls.
