Mugambi Nandi made history when his law firm, KN Law LLP became the first Nairobi-based law firm to set up a branch and relocate one of its partners to London, England.

The move was meant to coordinate KN Law’s growing corporate, M&A and PE client base while offering services to British firms seeking counsel on/in Nairobi.

Mugambi who prides himself on over 25 years’ experience in the legal field, was admitted to the role of a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in September 2021.

“Some personal news: This boy from Chuka is now a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales. Fact: It was not a life goal. I just woke up one day at the start of the lockdown last year and decided to make good use of all the time I suddenly had in my hands,” Mugambi wrote at the time, noting it was a dream come true.

KN Law LLP

The specialist law firm helps and works with corporate clients in M&A transactions, legal due diligence and advisory, corporate restructuring, capital markets, debt and equity transactions and complex real estate transactions in Kenya and across East and Central Africa.

Currently, the firm boasts a team of eight (8) lawyers including 3 partners, two associate partners and 3 associates.

Mugambi Nandi stated that his practice would also help Kenyans struggling to get legal representation abroad.

“If you are in London with a corporate, commercial or M&A need in Kenya, you would struggle to get the work done without going through one of the big law firms, most of which are now tied in exclusive arrangements with law firms in London or South Africa. By being present in London, I believe we can offer the same service but in a simpler, and direct way,” stated the Lawyer.

Recognitions

Mugambi Nandi was cited by Chambers Global in 2017 and 2018 as a “Recognised Practitioner” in the Corporate and Commercial Law rankings for Kenya.

He has been consistently ranked in Chambers Global in 2019, 2020, and 2021, with part of the citation stating that he is appreciated by clients for his “sharp legal mind” and “solutions-oriented approach”.
