Mwangi Kiunjuri Takes Out Moses Kuria For Lunch as Consolation

Laikipia East MP Mwangi Kiunjuri has offered consolation to former CS Moses Kuria.

Kuria missed out on two lists of nominations for Cabinet Secretary slots named by President William Ruto.

In a post on X, Kuria revealed that Kiunjuri was returning a favour having taken him for lunch when was fired back in 2020 as Agriculture CS.

Kuria thanked the politician for the lunch treat.

“On 14th January 2020 my friend Festus Mwangi Kiunjuri was fired from THE Cabinet. On that day I took him out for lunch. Today my brother has returned that favour. It was a good lunch. Asante Mwangi.” Kuria said.

Kuria served as the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, he lost his position when President William Ruto dissolved the Cabinet and fired all CSs.

Apart from Kuria, other fired CSs who have missed on the second list are:

Peninah Malonza who was in charge of the East African Community docket.

Aisha Jumwa who was in charge of the Gender and Culture docket.

Njuguna Ndung’u at Treasury.

Zacharia Njeru who served as Water and Irrigation CS.

Mithika Linturi Agriculture and Livestock.

Ezekiel Machogu at Education.

Ababu Namwamba at Sports.

Simon Chelugui at Micro and Small Enterprises.

President William Ruto on Wednesday, July 24 nominated more Cabinet Secretaries.

Among the new names in his list are Raila Odinga’s Azimio members.

Among them are Hassan Joho and John Mbadi.

Also nominated is former Kakamega governor and staunch Raila ally Wycliffe Oparanya.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Chairman Mbadi is the new Treasury Cabinet Secretary and National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi is the Energy Cabinet Secretary.

Joho has been nominated to be the new Mining Cabinet Secretary and Oparanya as the Cooperatives Development Minister.
