Marriage
Isaac Mwaura and Nellius met through a mutual friend. They had a coffee date and their affection for each other blossomed. Mrs. Mwaura said it wasn’t easy as people would often say that she loved the former senator for his money but she set the record straight saying that she loved him for his kindness and the man he was.
“MY HUSBAND IS VERY HANDSOME AND HIM HAVING AN ALBINISM CONDITION DOES NOT MEAN HE DOES NOT DESERVE A BEAUTIFUL WIFE.
THE MOST COMMON THING IS THAT I MARRIED ISAAC MWAURA BECAUSE OF MONEY BUT IT IS NOT ABOUT THE LOOKS BUT ABOUT HOW HE TREATS YOU.”
YOU CAN GET PEOPLE WHO ARE OKAY BUT THEY DO NOT TREAT YOU WELL SO, IT IS NOT ABOUT THE LOOKS AND MONEY,” she told Massawe of Radio Jambo.

They broke up once and then got back together stronger and better. Apparently, the politician broke up with her because he thought she wasn’t ready for marriage as she was too young. Isaac proposed to her in a surprise proposal in 2014.
Mukami and Mwaura said ‘I do’ in a colorful wedding ceremony at the Evergreen house in 2015. The beautiful ceremony was graced by the who is who in the political world. Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was among those who attended the occasion. It was also to be attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta but State House duties would not allow him. Instead, he invited them for an after-wedding photoshoot at State House. The wedding was so colorful that it became the talk of town for quite sometime.
The joyous occasion was followed by a honeymoon in Bali, Indonesia.
Rumours of a troubled marriage between the two began sometime this year following cryptic messages by Mukami on her social media page.
Children
In January 2017, the couple was blessed with triplets-two boys and a girl. Mukami says the pregnancy journey was not easy and she was on bed rest nearly all throughout the pregnancy and her morning sickness also lasted the whole time. The babies were born at 28 weeks weighing between 1 to 1.2kg and they stayed in the ICU for 11 weeks. Two of the babies, the girl and one boy, passed away and they went home with one baby named Njiru Mwaura. It was a difficult time for them watching their babies die and the hospital bills had shot up to kes11.2 million. They were, however, happy with the fact that they got to go home with their son.
“I have become a different person after losing my two kids. I now have tough skin and a tough heart and it is something that is life time. Even when I introduce myself, I always say, I am a mother of three children, and on my son’s birthday, I celebrate even those two that I lost,” she said.
Struggle with Depression
In a candid post on social media, she revealed her journey with depression. She said living with depression, anxiety and attention deficit hyperactivity (ADHD) is the hardest thing she has faced in her life.
She said it has taken a lot from her and it continues to take and finding the strength to wake up in the morning is at times very difficult.
“I have lost so many parts of myself, sometimes I stare in the mirror and I cannot recognise who I am anymore,” she said.
“Somedays, even finding the strength to wake up in the morning and be functional is difficult, but nobody understands that it takes everything in me just to drag myself out of bed,” her post read.
“I have big dreams and big plans and great ambition, but I am always hesitant to publish an article, Post a YouTube Video, or even a simple photo. My Anxiety always manages to convince me that the work is not good enough and that I am not Good Enough; it tells me that people will see me as a fraud and realize I am not as good as I think. I do not feel worthy of the compliments and the achievements,” she added.
