News anchor Olive Burrows bid an emotional farewell to NTV.

Wednesday, May 8 was the journalist’s last bulletin at the Nation Media Group-owned TV station.

An emotional Burrows thanked NTV for allowing her to work for them.

Her colleagues shared messages of appreciation and celebrated her time at the Twin Towers.

From hugs, and flowers to cakes it was an emotional goodbye for Burrows after six years at NTV.

“I love you guys. It has been an absolute privilege working here at the Nation Media Group for the last six years,”

“They took a chance on me, and it has paid off, not just careerwise but also the friendships, and we remain comrades in arms because this craft we are in together for the greater good of Kenyans,” said Burrows.

The anchor added that leaving NTV was not a goodbye but they would always see each other later.

“This is not goodbye, it is see you later. You guys have been working to see me cry today, I will wait for it to start raining then I’ll blame it on the sound,” she said.

Olive Burrows will join Citizen TV to replace Victoria Rubadiri who moved to CNN.

Burrows previously worked at Capital FM before making the move to NTV in 2018.

She has hosted the breakfast show AM Live and prime-time news bulletins at NTV.

Olive Burrows at Capital FM made history by becoming the only Kenyan journalist to interview former U.S. President Barack Obama during his visit to Kenya in 2015.

The journalist’s full name is Olive Kalekye Burrows, she has a Kamba mother and a father of mixed British and Tanzanian origin.
