The Real Househelps of Kawangware (TRHK) is among the most celebrated television shows in Kenya over the last decade or so.
However, the show came to an abrupt end in 2020 following the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Covid-19 pandemic brought about economic constraints that affected various sectors across the globe. The entertainment industry was among the most affected sectors across the world.
With the directive to social distance as a preventative measure for this spread of the deadly virus, production was shut down for most television shows. This plunged actors to various economic strains.
In Kenya, many entertainers have come out to express the toll the pandemic took on their businesses, let alone their careers.
On Tuesday, March 15, 2022, TRHK actor Onyi, hit the headlines after he admitted to living the streets and being broke.
The actor stated that his fortunes went south with the onset of the pandemic, and he has been unable to find his way back.

The dreadlocked actor was among the first cast members of TRHK during its formative years on KTN. Onyi played the ruthless thug who used sheer force to have his way. He appeared in most of the episodes.
